I started life in Lagos, Nigeria in 1965 and I first came to the UK in 1972 when I was seven. I boarded at schools in Dorset from seven to eighteen and even though it now seems like long time ago, I still remember adjusting to my new life on the South Coast. The sun and the sea remain important parts of my life today.
I qualified as a therapist and counsellor in 2001 and gained Accreditation with the BACP in 2009 and I describe myself as a Trauma Informed, Attachment Focused therapist. I am a trained EMDR provider, and my practice is DDP informed.
My professional experience includes working in residential children’s homes and mainstream schools, providing support for the NHS staff during Covid, providing expert witness assessment, treatment and reports for families stuck in litigation in Bournemouth or Portsmouth Family Courts and providing support for first responders and the military through the NHS or private referral.
I provide therapeutic supervision for staff in specialist schools for children who have an EHCP for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
I support parents through a Dorset charity, whose children have significant life limiting conditions or who are in end of life care.
I specialize in providing comprehensive treatment for anxiety and depression, helping you to change difficult relationships into places of trust and mutual support and helping children and adults recover from the physical and emotional effects of childhood trauma.
