I am an experienced psychotherapist based in beautiful Perthshire with a particular interest in working with adults whose childhoods involved the British institutions such as boarding schools, the established church, or the experience of being what’s often described as a third-culture kid. Those who experienced these environments often describe strong values of duty, self-reliance and service alongside pressures to perform, emotional cauterisation, and complicated relationships with authority, belonging and attachment. If this resonates with you I will support you in making sense of how those early institutional experiences have influenced and shaped how you think, feel, relate and cope today.
I offer a reflective, non-judgemental space where your experiences are taken seriously and explored at your own pace. Drawing on relational, developmental and trauma-informed approaches, our work together can aid your understanding of unhelpful patterns, regulate difficult emotions, build healthy boundaries and cultivate authentic connections with others and yourself.
