About Us
Seen & Heard is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of past and present pupils of UK boarding and independent day schools—and their families. Our work addresses the often-overlooked emotional and psychological needs of those who, despite perceived privilege, carry deep and complex wounds from early school and life experiences, including neglect and abuse.
The Role
We are seeking a capable, empathetic and tech-savvy Operations Manager to join us in a voluntary capacity. This is a flexible, home-based role with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week initially, with the opportunity to grow the role to 24 hours per week. For the right person, this could become a paid, permanent position as the organisation continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and staffing our Online Sharing Groups with trained facilitators
- Supporting website updates and basic content management
- Assisting with newsletters, communications and outreach
- Responding to stakeholder and service user emails
- Helping with operational admin and improving internal systems
About You
We are ideally looking for someone who:
- Understands the UK boarding and/or independent day school system—either through lived experience or that of close friends/family
- Is empathetic to the unique experiences of those who suffered emotional harm or neglect in these settings
- Is highly comfortable with technology and has access to a personal desktop or laptop (not tablet/phone)
- Is organised, reliable, and capable of working independently with a commitment to trauma-informed values
- Is open to developing their role over time as part of a small, passionate, and values-led team
Full training will be provided, and you will be supported every step of the way.
